Adolescents
Growing up in our complex society can be a confusing and challenging time for teens and adolescents. For some, the additional support counseling brings during this time of their life can move them past challenges which may cause them anxiety or depression.

During adolescence, many want to become more independent. They may form identities by trying out new behaviors and roles. Puberty usually occurs in this stage. It brings many physical and emotional changes. Changes during these years may strain parent-teen relationships. New behaviors may go beyond boundary-pushing and cause problems. Emotional highs and lows may persist. This too can also lead to anxiety or depression.

Sometimes issues can arise during this time of development due to events that may have occurred during their childhood. These issues could have been traumatic events, such as being bullied. They can also be routine, like moving to a new home. Every child responds differently to life changes. Therapy is a safe place for a teen to process thoughts and emotions.
